Regular readers of my blog will know about my award winning TV series on China Food TV – Food Adventures on the Silk Road 2. It has substantial TV ratings in China and won the award for Best TV Series at the China TV and Radio Awards. Let me tell you a bit more about China Food TV.
Based in Qingdao in China, it’s the biggest Food TV channel in China and produces over 60 shows every day. It’s a subscription channel that officially launched in 2005 and also has a partner China Food TV USA.
My Chinese Co-Host from ‘Food Adventures on the Silk Road 2’ – Jimmy presents a show called ‘1000 flavours workshop‘ where he talks about all of the seasonings in Chinese food. When in the west we talk about seasonings we mean: salt, pepper, mustard and vinegar. Not so in China, they have thousands of seasonings and then more combinations of such.
Dai Wen Hai is the president of China Food TV and he was awarded Broadcaster of the year at the World Food and Wine TV festival. A man I have met many times due to my appearances on Food Adventures on the Silk Road. Mr Dai Wen Hai, I thank you for your support and the opportunities you have given to me over the years.
