British Bacon

I don’t know about you, but when I shop for food once or twice a week it always involves bacon.  And I WANT BRITISH BACON.

I love unsmoked bacon that has a nice crispy rind when grilled for a bacon sarnie with HP sauce!  However, coming from a farming community in Northern Ireland I was always taught to “support your own”.  It’s amazing how some of the things you learn as a child stay with you and one of those has always been for me to buy British and NOT Danish bacon.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against our nordic neighbours, but why should I increase my food miles when we produce bacon and other gammon products in our green and pleasant lands?

Have a read of what our National Farmers Union say about the situation HERE.

It’s really rather simple, read the label, buy British.
