It was not that long ago I was singing (very badly may I add) along to ‘Jerusalem’ at the last night of the Proms. However food from Jerusalem is more manna from heaven than green and pleasant lands.
The press is full of it, cookbooks have been published about it and the food of Jerusalem seems to be the current food trend. Yotam Ottolenghi is the man largely responsible and this Israeli born chef has brought flavours like za’tar and sumac to our homes in simple family meals.
