‘Waffle on’ – I’m told I do a lot of it, in a constructive way may I add. In my search of Great British food I met Bettina and Eddie at Waffle On. Delicious German Waffles made to order in Maltby Street Market.
Looking at a list of toppings at the Waffle On stall I’m a bit carried away by what to have, with a list like Dry cure bacon and Canadian Maple Syrup, Gravalax with Creme Fraiche and Morello cherries with vanilla mascarpone not to mention a cheeky chocolate sauce with popping candy. Sounds good doesn’t it? And they do. However, the waffles taste better. As I type this, I see on Twitter Eddie is busy developing a plum sauce.
Made of buttermilk and cooked on heavy waffle irons right in-front of you, they are hot and fluffy and not like a ‘West End Waffle’, these are authentic, delicious, fresh and gastronomic.
I will be back this Saturday to have another waffle for breakfast, and possibly a bit of filming. See you there. I think we will hear more about Waffle On on this blog soon. Superb.
