Food in Schools, an update

My letter to the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP about not just teaching cookery in schools, but rather bringing back Home Economics to teach children life skills has received a reply.  Sadly, not one that I wanted, but you know what?  I’m going to write a reply to Mr Gove that I will post on my blog later this week.

Untitled-1On Friday past my thoughts on this topic was printed in the Farmers Weekly and the Guild of Food Writers have mentioned this in their members news letter.  I would like to ask for your support, for all to write to the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP in support of my correspondence about bringing Home Economics back into British Schools.

The address is:

The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP
House of Commons
London
SW1A 0AA

Thank you in your support of this vital campaign to help our children learn vital transferable life skills.  And as for the reply, please see below, you can take part in the consultation http://education.gov.uk/aboutdfe/departmentalinformation/consultations
