Café Quality Food and Drink Awards 2015

Everyone likes to win an award, it’s a mark of dedication, hard work and careful product planning.  Last summer I lead the kitchen team at the much coveted Quality Food Awards in London and this Easter I’m excited to be doing the same for a new award, the Café Quality Food and Drink Awards.

You’re out with your friend, or for that matter at a business meeting and you agree to meet at a coffee shop.  Which one?  If locality is not an issue do you go to one particular chain out of brand loyalty, marketing hype or just because you like the coffee and other offerings they sell?  Welcome to the Café Quality Food and Drink Awards, the first awards in the UK to put the macchiato to the challenge.  Who’s is best for flavour?  My team will be putting them to the test by serving the products to trusted food judges, the big guns of the industry to discover the best cappuccino, panini, cake etc out there.

From the trusted team behind the Quality Food & Drink Awards – now in its 36th successful year – comes the first ever Café Quality Food and Drink Awards

The awards are now open to all National, Regional and independent cafés, as well as food producers, wholesalers and food service operators who serve the industry. They will recognise the increasing demand for quality own-label and branded ranges at affordable prices in the retail and catering channels.

Judging will take place at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College in April and will retain all the credibility, transparency and robustness of the process originated by the Quality Food Awards. All entrants will receive feedback from the judging panel and winners and finalists will be able to use the Q logo on pack and in consumer advertising.

Organised by Metropolis Business Media, Group Publisher Helen Lyons commented: “What sets us apart is the impartiality and rigour of the judging process, which rightly sits at the heart of everything we do – it means people buying products with the ‘Q’ mark know they are choosing the best in the market.

The Awards ceremony in June will be an Afternoon Tea at a prestigious London venue. The Winners of the 39 categories will include the prestigious and free-to-enter National Café Chain of the Year award, Regional Café Chain of the Year, Independent Café of the Year and Contract Catering Café of the Year.

Full details and entry forms are available on the website

Entries will be accepted until 12 March and judging will commence on 13 April. The winners will be announced at a glittering Afternoon Tea at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, on 5 June 2015.
