The Lough Neagh Eel, my new book.

Today is publication day.  It’s been a few years since I published a book, and today, I’m please to say, I have a new book out.  It’s a book all about the Lough Neagh Eel, the story and recipes.  All to start my journey to record 2016 – Northern Irelands Year of Food and Drink.

food treasures, the Lough Neagh Eel.  A fish that’s so important to Northern Ireland that it’s been given the globally recognised PGI status as a protected food name.

As food is the story of communities and the story of people on a plate, Lough Neagh Eels are no different.  It’s the story of how a fish starts in the Sargasso Sea and arrives in Lough Neagh, 3000 miles away as a microscopic baby before returning to the Sargasso sea to reproduce.

The recipes in the book are all using local NI ingredients.
